Frequently Asked Questions
VerFinder helps you find, explore and compare quality equipment across different categories. Here you can find answers to the main questions about how the catalogue is organized, where the data comes from, and how to use VerFinder when choosing equipment.
What is VerFinder?
VerFinder is an independent equipment guide and comparison tool.
Its purpose is to help you understand what types of equipment exist, how technologies differ, which manufacturers are worth considering, and which models are useful to compare with one another.
VerFinder does not aim to collect the largest possible number of products. The quality and usefulness of the information matter more to us.
Is VerFinder an online store?
No.
VerFinder is not an online store and does not currently sell the products shown in the catalogue. The site's main purpose is to provide structured technical information and help users compare equipment.
What kinds of equipment are featured on VerFinder?
VerFinder is being built as a universal catalogue of quality technical equipment rather than a site focused on a single topic.
Over time, separate major areas will be developed around, for example, marine equipment, aviation and unmanned systems, robotics, land vehicles, watches, and other technical categories.
Only sections for which sufficiently high-quality and structured information has already been prepared are published.
Why doesn't VerFinder include every existing product and manufacturer?
This is a deliberate principle.
VerFinder prefers a limited, well-structured catalogue to a large number of poorly verified products.
We aim to include manufacturers and models for which reliable technical information exists and which have sufficient reputation, product quality, and support.
How does VerFinder select manufacturers?
Several factors are considered: manufacturer reputation, product quality, availability of official documentation, technical transparency, warranty and service support, spare-parts availability, and other characteristics important for the specific type of equipment.
Brand recognition by itself is not the only criterion.
Does a manufacturer's presence on VerFinder mean it is better than all the others?
No.
Presence in the catalogue means that the manufacturer meets VerFinder's requirements for that category and provides information that allows its products to be considered and compared objectively.
It does not mean that every one of its products will be the best choice for every user.
Does the absence of a brand or model mean VerFinder considers it bad?
Not necessarily.
The catalogue is developed gradually. A manufacturer or model may be absent simply because that section has not yet been processed, the information is still being verified, or the product has not yet been included in the current catalogue scope.
How do I find the right equipment?
You can start with an equipment category and then narrow the selection by product type, manufacturer, and available technical specifications.
If you do not yet know a specific model, VerFinder is designed precisely for this scenario: first identify the appropriate type of equipment, then select several manufacturers, and only then compare specific models.
What should I do if I don't yet know what type of product I need?
Start with the relevant category and explore the available subcategories and main characteristics.
One of VerFinder's goals is to help you understand the differences between technologies and types of equipment before choosing a specific manufacturer or model.
How do I compare several products?
Select the models you are interested in and use the comparison function.
VerFinder shows specifications side by side so you can see the real differences between models: performance, dimensions, power, range or endurance, technologies used, compatibility, warranty, and other parameters that matter for the category.
Why are different specifications used for different categories?
Because there is no universal comparison table for all equipment.
For example, for a boat engine, power, weight, fuel consumption and drive type matter; for a drone, flight time, range, camera and navigation systems matter; and for a watch, movement, power reserve, materials and water resistance matter.
That is why each major VerFinder category uses its own comparison schema.
How do I know which model is better?
There is usually no universally “best” model.
One product may have more power, another less weight, a third better endurance, a more developed service network, or a more suitable price.
VerFinder shows the differences and helps you determine which model best matches your requirements.
Where does VerFinder get technical specifications?
The primary sources are manufacturers themselves: official product pages, technical specifications, manuals, catalogues, and other official documentation.
When necessary, data from official distributors or other reliable sources may also be used, but primary manufacturer data always has priority.
Does VerFinder verify information?
The catalogue structure is designed to use verifiable and technically supported data.
Information is normalized into a common format so that products from different manufacturers can be compared correctly.
Manufacturers can change specifications, configurations, and product availability, so for critically important decisions you should also check the manufacturers' current documentation.
Why can a specification on VerFinder sometimes differ from information on another website?
There can be several reasons.
The same product may have different versions for different countries, model years, or configurations. A manufacturer may also update specifications after a model's initial release.
In addition, third-party stores and catalogues sometimes use outdated or incomplete data.
VerFinder tries to rely primarily on official technical information.
Can equipment from different manufacturers be compared?
Yes. This is one of VerFinder's main purposes.
If products belong to a comparable type of equipment, the system should allow models from different manufacturers to be compared using the same meaningful parameters.
Can one product belong to several topics at once?
Yes.
Some products naturally overlap several areas. For example, professional watches may be relevant both as watches and as equipment for diving, marine travel, or aviation.
VerFinder's structure should help users find such a product from different relevant sections without creating artificial limitations.
Does VerFinder show prices?
If reliable information about a recommended or approximate price is available, it may be used as an additional parameter.
However, any listed price should not be treated as a commercial offer. The actual price may depend on the country, configuration, taxes, supplier, and time of purchase.
Are warranty, service, and spare parts taken into account?
Yes, when such data is available and relevant to the specific equipment.
Price and technical specifications are not the only factors in a purchasing decision. For many kinds of equipment, warranty, service network, consumables, spare parts, and the ability to maintain the product over the long term can be just as important.
Can VerFinder information be used for decisions involving safety or legal requirements?
VerFinder can help you explore and compare equipment, but it does not replace official documentation, professional advice, or legal requirements.
For equipment involving safety, operations restrictions, licensing, or certification, you must check the current requirements in your country and the manufacturer's official documents.
Why does VerFinder add new categories gradually?
Each category requires its own data structure, comparison rules, list of manufacturers, and information sources.
VerFinder therefore develops gradually: it is better to create a small but useful and well-verified section than to publish a large amount of incomplete information.
What is the main idea behind VerFinder?
To help the user move from the broad question:
“What do I actually need?”
to a much more specific one:
“Which few models are the best fit for me, and exactly how do they differ?”
VerFinder is being built not to maximize the number of products in the database, but to help you understand equipment and make an informed choice.
